The Hiram College women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to The College of Wooster on Tuesday evening in Wooster.
The win moves the Fighting Scots to 9-2 overall and 5-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference, while the loss drops the Terriers to 2-3 in conference action.
The host Scots controlled the first 45 minutes of action, outshooting the Terriers 11-1 in the opening frame. Goalie Allie Green kept the Terriers in it, making six, first-half saves, but Wooster snuck one past in the 38th minute. Holly Thompson scored her first goal of the season off a cross from Krissy Blanchard and Wooster led 1-0 at the break.
In the 57th minute, Wooster would tack on some insurance as Erica White connected on her 12th of the season. Despite allowing the goal, Green added five more saves in the half, but the Terriers fell, 2-0.
The former Second-Team All-NCAC selection was once again solid in the net, registering double-digit saves for the fourth time this season. She finished with 11 as Wooster outshot the Terriers 21-1.
Hiram will return to the pitch at Charles A. Henry Field on Saturday, October 20, as they play host to the Battling Bishops of Ohio Wesleyan University. The senior-day matchup is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
