Women's Soccer Falls to Mt. St. Joseph

Sept.22- HIRAM, Ohio- Despite a scoreless first half, the Hiram College women's soccer team fell 4-0 to Mt. St. Joseph, Saturday afternoon.

In the first, both sides traded shots but neither was able to score sending the game to an even 0-0 at the half.

Junior Ally Green finished the first half with 11 saves, despite Hiram being outshot 12-0 in the opening stanza. 

The tables turned after the break as Mt. St. Joseph tallied four goals in the remaining time, getting scores from Madeline Scherpenberg, Etelle Nfor, Alex Hines, and Kaylan Gruber. Scherpenberg's came in the 64th minute, Nfor's in the 68th, while Hines' was tallied in the 74th and Gruber's, the 85th.

Throughout the contest, the Terriers tallied three shots from freshman Kaitlyn Harris, sophomore Courtney Wendel, and sophomore Sam Minor.

In Green's 73 minutes of work she finished the afternoon with a total of 16 saves.  

Hiram will hit the road on Wednesday, September 26, when they travel to Westerville, Ohio to take on the Cardinals of Otterbein University. The matchup is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start.
