Hiram Women's Soccer falls to Westminster

Sept. 3 – HIRAM, Ohio – The Hiram College women's soccer team finished the Hiram College Classic by dropping a 2-0 decision to the Titans of Westminster College on Sunday afternoon. The loss drops the Terriers to 1-1 on the season.

The game-winner was scored by Westminster in the 24th minute, as reserve player Kaelyn Puhalla buried a cross from Skylar Bryant to beat keeper Sam Hudson and push the lead to 1-0.

Following a few chances on goal, which included shots on by Amber Baker, Hannah Ward and Sam Minor, the Titans tacked on insurance in the 87th minute.

Crossing the ball a few times in the 18-yard box, the ball finally found the foot of the Titan's Kayla Trozzi. Trozzi scored her first goal of the season on the assist from Melissa Thomas. The tally rounded out the scoring, giving Westminster the 2-0 win.

Hiram managed six shots in the game, placing three on net, while Westminster totaled 13 shots and eight scoring chances. Hudson made six saves.

The Terriers return to the pitch on Wednesday September 6, taking to the road for the first time this season. Hiram travels for a tilt with Heidelberg University. The matchup in Tiffin, Ohio is set for a 4:00 p.m. start.
