Soccer Falls to Ohio Wesleyan in Season Finale

HIRAM, Ohio – The Hiram College women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 match to Ohio Wesleyan in their final match of the season.

The Battling Bishops wasted no time as Ohio Wesleyan scored in the second minute of the game. Alyssa Giarrusso passed to Brooke Zinader, who beat out Hiram goalkeeper Ally Green and placed the ball in the right side of the net.

Hiram fired three shots in the first half, but none made it to the back of the net.

Ohio Wesleyan scored again in the 47th minute of the match when Haley Langhorne scored off a deflection. Although the Terriers fired double the number of shots they took in the first half, they were once again unable to score and the Battling Bishops took home the victory.

Hiram outshot Ohio Wesleyan 9-8, but the Battling Bishops held an 8-6 edge in corner kicks. 

Prior to the match, 11 seniors were honored as part of Senior Day festivities. Seniors included Allie Glatt, Kaitlin Zemanski, Emily Syrjala, Alison Cowell, Abbey Rowe, Genna Atkins, Bailey Norton, Katelyn Mauch, Ashley Myer, and Samantha Fox.

The Terriers finish their season with a 3-12 (0-8, NCAC) record, while Ohio Wesleyan finishes their season at 7-10 (4-4, NCAC).
