HIRAM, Ohio- The Women's Soccer team was defeated by DePauw (Ind.) 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.
The Terriers now have a 3-7-1, 0-3 NCAC record on the season, while the Tigers improve to 6-4-1, 2-1 NCAC.
The Tigers scored their first goal in the 38th minute when Gail Enright connected with Bridget Brendza, who headed the ball into the net to give DePauw (Ind.) the 1-0 lead. Although no other goals were scored in the first half, both teams had several opportunities. DePauw (Ind.) took eight shots and Hiram took six.
The second goal of the game came around the 58th minute. Alex Berkley seized the opportunity to score on an open goal to give the Tigers their second goal of the game.
The final goal was exactly three minutes later when Ali Grimm fired a shot and secured the 3-0 win for DePauw (Ind.). Kathryn Ruark was awarded with the assist.
In goal, freshman Ally Green (Stow, Ohio/ Stow- Munroe Falls) played the entire match and finished with 11 saves.
The Tigers outshot the Terriers 19-14, but both teams had six corner kicks in the match.
Hiram is scheduled to play next on Wednesday when they travel to Gambier to face Kenyon at 4 p.m.
