HIRAM, Ohio -- Hiram College women's soccer coach Michael Cracas has announced the addition of nine first-year student-athletes to the women's soccer program for the upcoming 2016 season.
"I'm very excited about this upcoming class," said Cracas. "We have players that can play all over
the field and will provide us with more talent as we continue to build the program towards the future."
Below are the nine newest additions to the Terrier program:
Lauren Caldwell (Stow-Munroe Falls, Ohio/Stow-Munroe Falls) was a four-year letterwinner for the Bulldogs. She served as team captain during the 2016 season and earned Honorable Mention All-Suburban League accolades. In addition, Caldwell was a Scholar Athlete Award recipient for all four years she was on the Bulldogs. (top left)
Isabel Ebel (Pompano Beach, Fla./Coral Springs) joins the program after a successful prep career. Ebel and her team were the champions of the Disney Showcase Qualifier in 2015 and runners up in 2016. In addition, Ebel and her team advanced to the Round of 8 at the Florida State Cup and captured the Squadra Showcase, where she was named MVP. (top right)
Ally Green (Stow-Munroe Falls, Ohio/Stow-Munroe Falls) earned four letters during her time with the Bulldogs. She was named First Team All-Suburban League in 2016, while also serving as the team captain. In addition, Green was also named as a Scholar Athlete for all four years she was a member of the Bulldogs. (second on left)
Jasmine Kemp (Rootstown, Ohio/Rootstown) holds the single-season goal scoring record for the Rovers, registering 29. She was named First Team All-Portage Trail Conference and was a two-time All-District MVP. Kemp also led the Rovers to three Portage Trail Conference titles and one District title. (second on right)
Emma Kovach (Fairview Park, Ohio/Fairview Park) was a two-time All Patriot Athletic Conference honoree. She earned Second Team All-Patriot Athletic Conference honors in 2014 and First Team accolades in 2015. She also earned multiple varsity letters as a member of the Warriors. (third on left)
Val Lauderback (Eastlake, Ohio/Lake Catholic) was a two-time All-North Coast League honoree, earning Honorable Mention accolades in 2014 and Second Team honors in 2015. Lauderback helped lead the Cougars to four appearances in the District title game, winning the title in 2014 and 2015, where they also advanced to the Regional finals. (third on right)
Miranda Miracle (Southington, Ohio/LaBrae) was a four-year letterwinner for the Vikings. She was a three-time All-District honoree and also earned All-State accolades once. In addition, Miracle was named the Coach's Defensive Player of the Year. (fourth on left)
Kaitlyn Morse (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio/St. Vincent-St. Mary) was named Most Valuable Defender of the Irish in 2014 and 2015. She was also named First Team All-District and Second Team All-State for her efforts during the 2015 season. In addition, she led the Irish to two District runner up finishes in 2013 and 2014. Grace Murray (Wooster, Ohio/Central Christian) was a member of the first ever women's soccer team at Central Christian High School. She owns the program record for most goals scored in a season and garnered in a host of awards in 2015 including First Team All Mid-Buckeye Conference, First Team All-Tri County, First Team All-District and Second Team All-Ohio. "I can't wait to get the upcoming season started," added Cracas. "Our squad for the upcoming season will have a nice blend of young talent and veteran leadership. I know that with hard work we can reach our goals for the 2016 season."
The Terriers will open the 2016 campaign on September 1, with a road contest at Thiel (Pa.), beginning at 7 p.m.
