GREENCASTLE, Ind. – The Hiram College women's lacrosse team dropped a 25-4 decision against the DePauw Tigers on Saturday afternoon.
DePauw quickly got to work in the start of the match, scoring seven goals during the first fifteen minutes of the half. Autumn Osgood managed to record two goals during that same time, but the Tigers tacked on six more goals to make the score 13-2 going into halftime.
The Tiger offense continued to dominate in the second half, outscoring the Terriers 12-2. After six more goals by DePauw, Alyse Gillentine and Kayla Jenkins scored their 11th and 10th goals of the season to make the score 19-4 with 10:55 remaining.
The Tiger defense came into play in the final minutes of the match, holding the Terriers scoreless. Their performance in combination with six more goals by DePauw secured the win for the Tigers.
Osgood continues to lead the Hiram offense. The senior finished the day with a team-high two goals, while Gillentine and Jenkins followed with one goal apiece.
Hiram will next travel to Waynesburg to face the Yellow Jackets in a nonconference matchup on Tuesday, April 4 at 7 p.m.
