March 13 – CLEVELAND, Ohio – Thanks to a record-setting performance in the women's lacrosse team's 21-3 victory over Heidelberg University, Hiram senior Autumn Osgood has been named the North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week, announced the conference office on Monday afternoon.
The Terriers coasted to the 18-goal victory over the Student Princes, marking the second-most goals scored by Hiram in program history. Osgood was a major contributor to the cause, tallying a third of the goals, and having her hand in nearly 66% of the markers.
Osgood increased her career goal total to 99 as she tallied seven in the win on Sunday afternoon. Additionally, the senior midfielder broke the school marks for both assists (six) and total points (13).
The senior played efficiently on offense throughout the game, placing seven of her nine shots both on goal and in the net.
A multi-faceted player, Osgood also helped the Terriers control nearly every major statistical category. Thanks to her efforts, Hiram held a 19-7 advantage in draw controls, in which she finished with seven. She also added eight ground balls to her totals.
The award marks the first time in Osgood's career that she has been named the NCAC Player of the Week. In addition, it marks the first time in program history that a Terrier has earned the award.
Osgood and the Terriers will be back in action on Wednesday, March 15 as the team is scheduled to take on Saint Vincent College at Charles A. Henry Field. The matchup is slated for 7 p.m.
