HIRAM, Ohio -- As the summer continues to roll along, Hiram College women's lacrosse player Autumn Osgood (Hyde Park, Vt./Lamoille Union) took advantage of a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Osgood represented USA Athletes International (USAAI) in the Lacrosse Prague Cup 2016 from June 24 - June 26 in Prague, Czech Republic.

USAAI is a global leader in education and sports tours. The non-profit is dedicated to giving amateur athletes and coaches the opportunity to participate in International Olympic-style sporting events throughout the world, while also allowing them to broaden their educational and cultural knowledge of the world.

Osgood was one of 13 members on the USAAI team. In all, 12 teams from all over the world competed in the tournament.

Osgood and her teammates posted a 1-1 record in pool play, defeating the Riga Griffins of Latvia 14-1 and falling to pool winner LCC Girlz of the Czech Republic in a tight 6-5 contest.

In the playoff stages, USAAI dropped its opening contest in another tight one 6-5 to eventual champion AIST from the United States. The team rebounded to post a 12-8 win over GB Team, which consisted of players from England, Scotland and Wales.

Osgood and her teammated concluded the trip with a 12-3 win over LC Jizni Mesto of the Czech Republic, to capture fifth place in the 12 team tournament.

Osgood would score a goal on the trip while seeing plenty of action on the field.

"This was an unbelievable opportunity," said Osgood. "Getting the chance to travel internationally and play the sport I love is something I will remember for the rest of my life."
