Women's Lacrosse Beaten By Baldwin Wallace
BEREA, OHIO -- The Hiram College women's lacrosse team was defeated by Baldwin Wallace University, 19-2, in a non-conference game in Berea.
BW (9-2) scored the first five goals of the game before Hiram (3-6) got on the board with a goal by sophomore JoLyn Grover (Grand Blanc, Mich./Grand Blance) with 23:47 left in the half on a free-position shot. But the Yellow Jackets would end the half with seven straight goals to take a commanding 12-1 lead at halftime.
The Yellow Jackets scored the first goal of the second half which was followed by Grover's second goal of the game on an unassisted score at the 21:50 mark to round out the Hiram scoring. BW went on to tally six more goals to end the game en route to cruising to the 19-2 victory.
Grover was the only point scorer for the Terriers as she found the back of the net on the only two shots she took in the game.
Sophomore goalkeeper Rebecca Greenhouse (Pittsburgh, Pa./Winchester Thurston) played the entire game and had 18 saves in 37 shots faced.
Hiram is scheduled to travel to Wooster for a North Coast Athletic Conference game against The College of Wooster on Saturday, Apr. 5. The game is set to begin at 4:30 p.m.
