Women's Golf opens season with ninth place finish at OWU Fall Invitational

POWELL, Ohio -- The Hiram College women's golf team finished ninth of 10 teams at the OWU Fall Invitational to open up the 2015-16 campaign.

The Terriers posted a 36-hole score of 390-395-785. 

Wooster won the team title with a score of 321-329-650, Ohio Wesleyan was second shooting a 352-331-683 and Columbus State was third with a score of 351-333-684.

Senior Megan Jennings (Stow, Ohio/Stow-Munroe Falls) paced the Terriers with a 87-88-175. Her score tied her for 15th place.

Junior Brogan Petree (Minerva, Ohio) finished in a tie for 44th, freshman Megan Kern (Geneva, Ohio/Austinburg) finished 51st and senior Alexa Griswold (Conneaut) finished 52nd.

Emily Howerton of Wooster took home Medalist honors with a 77-81-151 on the weekend.

Hiram will return to action on September 20, when it takes part in the 36-hole John Carroll Invitational at Hudson Country Club.
