The Hiram College swimming & diving team competed in the opening day of The College of Wooster Invitational on Thursday afternoon in Wooster.
Competing in individual events during the prelim session in the morning, the Terrier athletes posted a few season-best performances throughout the day.
Terrier junior Jill Schmidt tallied the lone personal record during the morning swim, grabbing a 7:32.95 in the 500 freestyle. Meanwhile, freshman Carlee Lisser finished 38th in the event, posting her best collegiate time with a 5:46.52.
In the men's 500 freestyle, senior Michael Barber grabbed his fastest time of the 2018-19 season, posting a 5:37.84.
In the 200 yard individual medley, senior Reeve Bowling tallied the fastest time for the Terrier men, coming under two seconds shy of his personal record with a 2:10.75. Nicki Prentler, meanwhile was the lone competitor for the women in the event, turning in a 2:58.84, just shy of her season best.
In the 50 freestyle, junior Kimmy Morrison dropped a second and a half off of her seed time for the women, finishing with a 31.21. On the men's side, Eli Skaggs came less than a second shy of his collegiate best with a 23.77, while newcomer Colton Kinderknecht competed in his first collegiate event, shaving nearly five seconds off his seed time.
The Terriers are set to hit the pool for day two of the Wooster Invite on Friday, November 30.
