Hiram Swimming and Diving Stung by Yellow Jackets
Nov.17- HIRAM, Ohio- The Hiram College swimming & diving teams wrapped up their last home meet of the calendar year against Baldwin Wallace University, Friday night.  
 
The Terriers fell to the Yellow Jackets 120-95 on the men's side and 136-34 on the women's side.  
 
The Hiram men had a strong showing capturing six first-place finishes.  
 
 Senior Jordan Canevari opened up the night claiming the first Hiram victory in the 800-meter freestyle (10:00.97), and later securing a second-place finish in the 400-meter freestyle in a time of 4:55.16.  
 
Freshman Elijah Skaggs came back an event later to win the 200-meter freestyle in 2:06.81.  
 
The Terriers had back to back wins with Skaggs snatching a victory in the 100-meter butterfly (1:02.57), and junior Reeve Bowling taking the 100-meter freestyle (0:56.69). 
 
Bowling also had a second-place finish in the 50-meter freestyle in 26.03.   
 
Freshman Brady Gunther pulled away from the pack, finishing first in the 100-meter backstroke (1:05.08). 
 
Senior Jory Gomes posted a second-place finish in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:23.92). 
 
The men's 400-meter freestyle relay closed out the night with a victory clocking in at 3:51.26. The relay featured freshman Darien Street, Skaggs, Gunther, and Bowling.  
 
Sophomore captain Kimmy Morrison was the first to put points on the board for the women, finishing in the top half of the 50-meter freestyle competition (33.32).  
 
Sophomore Jenna Nelson won the 100-meter breaststroke in 1:25.74, and had a second-place finish in the 100-meter freestyle (1:09.75).   
 
The Terriers will be back in action when they kick off their first day of the Wooster Invitational on Thursday, November 30 at the Timken Natatorium in Wooster, Ohio.
