HIRAM, Ohio -- Four first half goals propelled John Carroll to a 4-0 lead over Hiram College men's soccer team on Saturday evening.
The Terriers drop to 2-3-1 on the season, while the Blue Streaks improve to 3-2-1.
JCU wasted not time jumping on the board, scoring twice in the first 12 minutes for an early 2-0 lead. The Blue Streaks would tack on two more goals and took a 4-0 lead into the break.
Hiram looked to answer in the second half, taking four shots, with two coming on goal, but came up empty.
Offensively, junior Blake Easterling (Barberton, Ohio) paced the Terriers with two shots. Senior Zac Cairns (North Olmsted, Ohio/St. Edward), junior Quinn Galecki (Lancaster, Ohio/Lancaster), junor Richard Milford (Akron, Ohio) and freshman Tyler Helderman (Tallmadge, Ohio/Tallmadge) all fired a shot for Hiram.
Junior goalie Luke Wilhelm (Shaker Heights, Ohio/University School) made seven saves.
JCU held a slim 7-5 advantage in corner kicks.
Hiram will return to action on Wednesday, September 21 with a 4 p.m. road contest at Otterbein.
