Hiram ties Case 1-1 in double overtime battle

HIRAM, Ohio – Senior Vaal Ngalla (Pickerington, Ohio/St. Charles Prep) scored the only goal for Hiram as the men's soccer team tied Case Western 1-1 in their home opener on Wednesday.

The Terriers and Spartans now share identical records on the season, each being 2-2-1. 

Both teams were scoreless in the first half. It was not until the 52nd minute when Case Western's scored to break the tie.

The Terriers answered back in the 84th minute when Ngalla scored off of a deflection from the Spartan keeper. Ngalla's goal was his second of the season.

In goal, junior Luke Wilhelm (Shaker Heights, Ohio/University School) played the entire match, recording two saves.

Hiram will return to action when they face John Carroll on Saturday, September 17 at 6 p.m.
