Daniel Morgan enters his second season with the Hiram football program. In 2017 he will serve as the linebackers coach as well as taking on the responibilities of recruiting coordinator for the Terriers.
In 2016, Morgan helped the Terriers to a trio of wins, including posting a winning record at Charles A. Henry Field. Morgan led the linebackers during the '16 campaign, helping Kyle Burchett to AFCA Second-Team All-American honors. Burchett earned the program's first All-American distinction since 1999 in Morgan's first season, ranking second in the NCAC in total tackles with 109. Additionally, Burchett added 12.5 tackles for loss, four sacks and forced three turnovers.
Overall, with Morgan's help, the defense ranked fifth in the conference in opponent's rushing yards per game. They also ranked in the top four in forced fumbles.
Morgan graduate from Waynesburg University in 2015, earning a pair of letters at linebacker for the Yellow Jackets. Appearing in all 11 games as a senior, Morgan helped Waynesburg to an 8-3 record in an ECAC bowl bid in 2014.
Following graduation he spent one season as a linebackers coach for Waynesburg. In addition, he also served as an assistant at Albert Gallatin High School.
Morgan earned his Bachelor's in sports management from Waynesburg in 2015, and is currently enrolled in Hiram's Master of Arts in disciplinary studies program.
