Title: Assistant Coach - Quarterbacks

Assistant Coach Brendan Leister joins the Terrier coaching staff for the first season in 2017. Leister will serve as the coach of the quarterbacks in his first year.

Leister comes to Hiram having most recently served as an assistant coach at Rittman High School in Rittman, Ohio. He coached two seasons for the Indians, serving as the passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach in his two seasons. In his first year at Rittman, he helped the program improve from a two-win team, to a .500 ball club in just one year.

While also coaching the Indians, Leister served as a graduate assistant at the University of Akron in the School of Sport Science and Wellness Education. There, he taught physical education classes while working in numerous facets throughout the department. In addition to those duties, he also helped the Zips Athletic Department on game days, as well as within the recruiting department.

Prior to his time at Rittman and Akron, Leister worked as an assistant football coach with the Marietta Warriors, as well as coaching at Marietta High School (2012) and Frontier High School (2011).

Apart from his coaching experience, Leister has provided NFL coverage online since 2011. Most notably, he served as the editor for from 2012-15 and also works as a contributor on

Leister earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Studies: Athletic Coaching Education from Akron in 2015, where he earned Summa Cum Laude honors. He also earned his Master's in Sport Science from Akron, graduating with a 4.0 GPA.
