HIRAM, Ohio – The Hiram College football team announced that seniors D.D. Fleetion (Youngstown, Ohio / Youngstown East) and Tim Hinton-McCoy (Bedford, Ohio / Bedford) will represent Hiram in the DIII Senior Classic in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina this Saturday.
The DIII Senior Classic is an annual post-season all-star game consisting of top student-athletes from DIII institutions. The Classic showcases the nation's best players and top DIII NFL prospects in an exclusive opportunity for them to play each other in a North vs. South All-Star format.
Going into its sixth year, the DIII Senior Classic has been highly successful and is undoubtedly the premier post-season scouting opportunity for all of DIII Football. It has attracted the best football players DIII football has to offer for the past 3 years, boasting rosters that are consistently 82% All-Americans.
Fleetion finished his senior season being named Second-Team All-Conference by the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC). Over the course of the season, the defensive back finished second on the team in tackles, recording 66 (40 solo, 26 assists). He also had four interceptions for 27 yards. In addition, Fleetion also tacked on five pass breakups and one fumble recovery.
Prior to this season, Fleetion was named Honorable Mention All-North Coast Athletic Conference during his junior season.
Hinton-McCoy closed the book on his final season as a Terrier with several new career-highs. The interior defensive lineman recorded 26 tackles (17 solo, nine assists), with 6.5 coming for a loss of 28 yards. Ranking second on the team, the Hinton-McCoy doubled his previous single-season high with five sacks, totaling a loss of 24 yards. He also forced one fumble.
