GRANVILLE, Ohio – The Terrier baseball team continued North Coast Athletic Conference action on Friday evening, falling twice to Denison University.
The Big Red bats were going early and often in both sides of the doubleheader as the hosts ran out to a 9-0 lead in the first two innings of game one. Thanks to the early lead, Denison captured the first half of the twin bill, 13-1.
The offense was a bit better for Hiram in game two, but once again the Big Red sprinted out of the gate with nine runs in the first three innings.
Hiram scored one run early, getting a RBI single by Tyler Haas in the top of the second, but did not cross the plate again until the fifth.
Brown led the offense in game two, producing his first-career three-hit day, while Haas tallied a multi-RBI performance for the first time in his tenure as a Terrier. Sophomore Will Howell also produced a pair of hits in the outing.
Hiram will be back in action on Tuesday, April 17, as the Terriers are scheduled to travel to Meadville, Pa. for a NCAC matchup with Allegheny. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m.
