Jim Johnston begins his 11th year as an assistant athletic director at Hiram College and his 24th year as the school’s head athletic trainer.
A National Athletic Trainers Association certified trainer, Johnston is responsible for the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries to all student-athletes involved in intercollegiate and intramural programs. He also coordinates the exercise/sport science academic program.
Johnston holds a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education from Muskingum College and a master’s degree in physical education from Ohio University. He and his wife, Denise, have two sons, Josh and Ryan, and reside in Southington, Ohio.
