Stephanie Tickemyer joins the Hiram College softball coaching staff for her first season under head coach Scott Pohlman.
Tickemyer comes to Hiram after spending one season with Chaffey College, a member of the South Coast Conference, located in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. In one season with Chaffey, Tickemyer helped lead the Panthers to a 25-15 mark, and a berth in the SCC Championship Tournament.
Under her tutlage, six Panthers were named to the All-SCC team, including five first-year players. The Panthers boasted a team batting average of .398 during the 2018 season, combining for a near .500 slugging percentage. Two All-SCC honorees, Alexandria Longtree and Veronica Macias, finished the year batting over .400 on the season. In just one year under Tickemyer, Longtree hit .438 with a team-high 57 hits and 20 stolen bases. Macias, meahwhile, led the Panthers with 37 RBIs while hitting .422 on the season.
Tickemyer found a career in the coaching ranks immediately following her playing career, which spanned from 2014-17. A four-year member at Division I, UC-Riverside, Tickemyer appeared in 195 games for the Highlanders.
Starting in 151 games, Tickemyer was a career .241 hitter for Riverside. Her best season came as a junior where she hit .297 with 20 RBIs and was named a Second-Team All-Conference selection.
A two-time Academic All-Big West honoree, Tickemyer graduated from Riverside in 2017 with a Bachelor's in Psychology.
Stephanie will be enrolled in Hiram's graduate program while with the team.
